After changing editor themes constantly for years, I eventually decided to make one myself with a color palette that I knew I'd find pleasing to look at for a long time. I found the process of building and publishing the theme to be substantially more streamlined than I expected, so I might end up further customizing VS Code in other ways as well. Gold Standard has surpassed 2,000 installs at the time of writing, and is in use at companies including Wolfram Alpha.
